Last week was the fitting of the Velcro strap around the individual's wrist. The design has been confirmed and set. The placement on the individual's arm is not the most convenient, but it is the best position for the size of the Arduino board. The heart rate sensor stays in place on the individual's finger. Through testing and different activities the Velcro strap around the case has shown to be sturdy along with the Velcro strap around the person's finger. The design has proven to work well.
Despite many set backs during the coding process of the course, our coding has had an advancement. The code for the age input of a person had been completed. Since every person does not have the same ideal heart rate range during exercise due to age, that is where this code comes in. A person is able to input their age before using the device, the device is already coded for the heart rate for different ages, will adjust and adapt to the person.
Coding for the blinking light has also been completed. The light is coded to blink slowly when the individual reaches their maximum ideal heart rate. It will begin to blink rapidly when the person has a heart rate closer to their minimum ideal heart rate during exercise. Integration of all of the codes will be used to work simultaneously for the device to work efficiently.
